Campus Document Delivery

What is campus document delivery?

Articles from journals held at the University Libraries are photocopied and delivered through campus mail, or scanned by library staff and sent electronically as an e-mail.
There is no cost for this service.

Who's eligible?

Current and retired Northern Illinois University faculty and staff.

How many items can I request?

Up to ten items per week may be requested.

How do I use it?

Faculty and staff members may request articles using our regular online request forms. Just be careful to answer these three questions accordingly:

  • Choose faculty or staff under status
  • Select the correct campus
  • Indicate in the Notes and special instructions field that NIU owns the material.

  • You may also use hardcopy request forms located at service desks throughout the library and submitted to the Information Delivery Services office (Room 127).

How long will it take?

This service is provided within a four-business day handling time, from the day that the request is received in the IDS office. For more information about this service, contact Patrick Sanchez at (815) 753-3039.
