Proprietors: Harry Duncan, followed by Bonnie O'Connell; Omaha, Nebraska.

Harry Duncan of Cummington Press established Abattoir Editions at the University of Nebraska-Omaha as part of his printing and teaching position in 1972. The press name comes from the British term for "slaughterhouse.” University students assist in the projects from the press. Bonnie O’ Connell (of the Penumbra Press) took over as director in 1985 upon his retirement. The Private Press Collection at Northern Illinois University holds several titles by Abbattoir editions.
