Science Fiction Collection: The E.E. Knight Papers

Introduction

In May 2007, E.E. Knight, transferred a portion of his papers to Northern Illinois University. Property rights in the collection were transferred to Northern Illinois University Libraries. Literary rights are retained by Mr. Knight; any copyrights so stated in the materials will continue in force. Reproduction from this collection is provided at the discretion of Mr. Knight. Additional materials may be added to the collection at Mr. Knight's discretion. The materials in this collection are available for research to qualified scholars as determined by the Northern Illinois University Libraries without restrictions.

Scope and Content:

The E.E. Knight Papers consists of printed (paper-based) manuscripts for unpublished works, short stories and novels by E.E. knight, along with a small amount of correspondence related to those materials. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels; Series II consists of unpublished works. Series III consists of general correspondence and Series IV contains miscellaneous items. The Novels section is organized by book series title. Within each book series title, organization is based on original date of work. All other materials are organized within their series based upon original date of work. Dates of publication and reprinting are taken from E.E. Knight's notes and WorldCat, which can be accessed from the NIU Library home page by choosing "Find Information".

Biographical Sketch:

E. E. Knight is an author and game designer. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1987 with a double major in History and Political Science. Although born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, E. E. Knight grew up in Minnesota. His current works are the "Vampire Earth" and "Age of Fire" series. In "Vampire Earth" the future is dark as humans fight vampires, the Kurians, who have taken over Earth."Age of Fire" follows a young dragon, Auron, in his search for others of his kind. When Knight is not writing or gaming, he teaches a genre fiction writing class. This is a far cry from his first job of training and cleaning up after his neighbor's field-show team of labrador retrievers. Other jobs held by E. E. Knight included "managing a McDonald's to writing code for Andersen Consulting."
