  • Accessible Archives - - Full-text of Godey's Ladys Book (1830-1880), The Pennsylvania Gazette (1728-1880), The Civil War: Newspaper Perspective (1861-1865), African American Newspapers: the 19th century. Full Text.
  • Chicago Defender - - Robert Sengstacke Abbott founded the Defender in May 1905 and by the outbreak of the First World War it had become the most widely-read black newspaper in the country, with more than two thirds of its readership based outside Chicago. When Abbott died in 1940, his nephew John Sengstacke became editor and publisher of the Defender, which began publishing on a daily basis in 1956. Coverage 1910-1975.
  • Chicago Tribune - - This database gives access to a full-text backfile (excepting paid advertising) of the Chicago Tribune from 1985 to the current issue, Keyword searching can be free text or customized and limited to the previous three months, six months, or one year in addition to total holdings.
  • Chicago Tribune (Historical) - - This database offers full-text and full-image articles for newspapers dating back to the 19th century. For most titles, the collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue--cover to cover--in downloadable PDF® files. When the project is complete the coverage will span from 1849 to 2001.
  • Historic Newspaper: Brooklyn Daily Eagle Online (1841-1902) - - This digitization project was undertaken by the Brooklyn Public Library. The sixty year newspaper record attests to the growth and expansion of Brooklyn as a vital hub to New York.
  • LexisNexis Academic - - A subdivision of the Lexis-Nexis database, Academic Universe offers a news database which covers the full-text of today's news or allow searches back more than 20 years. The business database offers full-text company news and financial information. The legal database allows searches of full-text federal, state, and international legal materials, including cases. The medical database offers full-text and abstracted medical and health information, and the reference database allows searching of general reference sources. Some Full Text.
  • London Times Digital Archive - - This database presents online access to one of the most highly regarded resources for the study of the 19th and 20th-century history and culture. The database includes the complete pages of every issue of the London Times from 1785 to 1985 forming a complete chronicle of the period.
  • New York Times (Historical) - - This database offers full-text and full-image articles for newspapers dating back to the 19th century. For most titles, the collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue--cover to cover--in downloadable PDF® files. Coverage spans 1851 to 2001.
  • Newspaper Source - - Provides full text for 159 regional U.S. newspapers, eighteen international newspapers, six newswires, and nine newspaper columns, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Los Angeles Times (for a total of 194 full text newspapers and other sources). Newspaper Source is part of the Ebsco family of databases.
  • Times Literary Supplement Centenary Archive - - The TLS is one of the premier contemporary literary reviews. This mirror to the cultural history of our century - fully indexed with most of the original contributors now revealed for the first time - delivers unparalleled research information to scholars, students and librarians. Coverage is 1902 to 1990.
