The May 2008 exhibit in the first floor exhibit cases, Founders Memorial Library,
highlights 400 years of American cuisine. From Colonial times, the
United States has had many culinary influences. The exhibit includes books from
the Rare books collection and other interesting and unusual cookbooks from
the library's main collection. Do you know what ingredients were used in the early ketchups,
how to dress a turtle for the table, or the method for roasting a pig? There are also food trivia questions, food histories, facsimiles of menus and more. A bibliography of the exhibit is available here.
