The Coordinating Committee of the Illinois Cooperative Collection Management Program (ICCMCC) met at the Library of Western Illinois University on June 12, 2003.
Sonia Bodi called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.
1. Approval of minutes
James Huesmann made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 24, 2003 ICCMCC meeting. Mary Munroe seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by voice vote.
2. Report from Director (Elizabeth Clarage)
Databases Update
Invoices for LexisNexis products will be sent out July 1.
ABC-CLIO has increased their pricing. ICCMP will meet with representatives at ALA in Toronto to discuss their products and pricing.
Stat-USA and USA Trade Online subscriptions and renewals will go out shortly.
With input from NILRC and IDAL, a survey of databases will be sent to the consortium members soon.
Working with CAL on offering ScienceDirect from ElsevierScience (NILRC taking the lead).
Web Work – updating and correcting information on the existing site.
Grants
Received the one "letter of commitment" that was outstanding. The partnership shifted some funds from one institution to another for the speaker portion of the grant.
Meetings
Attended the CAL meetings, June 3, 2003. Continuing monthly conference calls with NILRC and IDAL on electronic services.
3. Budget
Budget dated May 31, 2003 was distributed to committee members. The committee agreed to give honorariums to the presenters at the Library Preservation Workshop held on May 16, 2003 in Normal, Illinois.
4. Taskforce Reports
a. Continuing Education – Preservation in the Small to Medium Sized Library – Spring Program / Workshop (Jim Cubit, Linda McEwan, Mary Munroe, Karen Schmidt, and Kathy Walsh)
The workshop was held May 16, 2003 at the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University. There were 37 paid registrations. The presenters were Barbara Feldman (Preservation Librarian, ISU), Jennifer Hain (Head of Conservation, UIUC), Beth Schobernd (Associate Dean, ISU), and Tom Teper (Head of Preservation, UIUC). Summary of the evaluations were distributed to committee members. There was a very high satisfaction rate with this workshop.

b. Assessment (Mary Munroe, Charlotte Johnson, Carla Tracy, and Kathy Walsh)
The final contract is making the rounds among Northern Illinois University and OCLC. The subject level assessment project should be delivered by the end of summer. It will be web-based rather than on a cd-rom. Collection mapping is on hold at the moment waiting for the next step. Linda Bills approached Mary Munroe about participating in a Mellon grant for an ongoing assessment project.
5. CAL (Council of Academic Libraries) Report
Elizabeth Clarage, Sonia Bodi, Art Young, and Jay Starratt reported on the CAL meetings of June 3, 2003.
Each consortium gave a brief update on activities. This meeting included a “futuring exercise” on the future of the group led by Kathryn Deiss.
There was a wonderful response to the call for nominations. Letters were sent to all nominees. The ballots should be returned by July 1, 2003 when they will be counted. The nominated committee suggested to the full ICCMCC that a more detailed process for nominations be developed.
7. Date for next meeting
Friday, August 22, 2003 at Northern Illinois University is the date of the next Coordinating Committee Meeting.
