Subject: Announcement from the Coordinating Committee Concerning the VLT Final Report
The Coordinating Committee of the Illinois Cooperative Collection Management Program (ICCMP) unanimously approved the report and recommendations of the Vision and Leadership Transition Team at its February 10, 2005 meeting. This report included two motions
A. To dissolve ICCMP effective July 1, 2005.
B. To adopt the Bylaws drafted by the Vision and Leadership Transition Team, which establish the governance and operation of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois, CARLI, on July 1, 2005. Furthermore that the respective staffs, services, and budgets of ICCMP, IDAL and ILCSO be merged and transferred to this new organization as described in the Bylaws and other associated documents submitted with this report.
The Coordinating Committee also voted unanimously to recommend that the membership:
A. Accept the VLT final report and recommendations, contingent upon the complementary approval of the VLT Recommendations by the Illinois Digital Academic Library (IDAL) and the Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO) no later than June 30, 2005.
B. Ask for priority attention from the new CARLI Board of Directors to performance indicators, purchasing cycles, and funding structures, particularly in the brokering of electronic resources.
