Northern Illinois University Libraries' Digital Initiatives
Northern Illinois University Libraries' Digital Initiatives produce a variety of resources. In addition to making digital facsimiles of materials in the Libraries' own collections available in an online, searchable format, they bring together resources from multiple institutions in collaborative projects. These projects largely reflect Director of Digital Initiatives Drew E. VandeCreek's interest in American history and the university's strength in the field of Southeast Asian Studies. Many of the Libraries' American history projects feature original interpretive materials, produced by leading scholars, as well as primary sources, an approach aimed at helping non-academic users to understand the context in which primary sources were produced.
